Bradford on Avon restoration on track for rail award

The Bradford on Avon station footbridge restoration is to be entered into next year’s National Railway Heritage Trust awards when completed.

The footbridge was lifted out several weeks ago and sent to a foundry in Plymouth for repair.

After it was re-installed, the span and staircases were painted in the original Great Western Railway colours of dark and light stone to reflect the station’s heritage status.

The platform canopies were also re-painted and the final stage will be to restore the original roof.
