ROADWORKS UPDATE: Silver Street/Market Street/Town Bridge

We have just heard from Wiltshire Council that the planned resurfacing of the mini roundabout at the junction of Market Street and Silver Street WILL NOT be taking place on Sunday 18th March as previously notified. There will be a temporary surface and ramps in place, allowing traffic through the town and over the Town Bridge.
In addition, due to forecasted weather conditions, the final stages of works on Market Street will also be delayed, and as road markings cannot be applied when the surface is wet, this means that whilst the road will temporarily re-open to traffic, there will be no pedestrian crossing in operation until at least Monday evening. Please take extra care when crossing the road. We will update you as and when we receive further updates.
