LORRY WATCH PROSECUTION

Lorry Watch is a community led scheme involving Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Council and local volunteers. It is designed to prevent overweight lorries breaching weight limits in our towns and villages.

Standing near the roadside, local volunteers monitor traffic at the location of a weight limit and report vehicles infringing the weight limit to Wiltshire Police.Wiltshire Heavy Building Materials Ltd were convicted of breaching the Bradford on Avon Town Bridge weight restriction order and fined £750. Wiltshire Council was awarded £200 costs and a victim surcharge of £75 was imposed.
