Growing Power
Will Allen has for 20 years or so been gradually building up a centre, projects and a world-wide network on growing food sustainably in small spaces in cities. He grows soil from clean organic city waste (e.g. supermarkets\' food waste, coffee grounds etc) in his centre, forming the necessary collaborative relationships with suppliers, neighbours, councillors etc; he employs people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds to produce affordable food in affordable ways that is healthy and organic, and runs classes in his methods. For example they grow salad and vegetables all year round together together with fish farming (fish on bottom shelf, plants on top shelf) in greenhouses in urban spaces.
Organic Power
Production of methane as a biofuel from organic waste
