The next public meeting of the Bradford on Avon Area Board will take place at St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon on Wednesday March 16. It starts at 7pm, and from 6.30pm there will be hot drinks and cakes on sale in aid of Comic Relief.

The focus of the meeting will be issues affecting children and young people. Discussions will be led by the young people in the town – including representatives of the Young Peoples’ Issues Group, the Youth Council and the St Laurence School Council – and identified issues will be debated by key professionals responsible for education, child welfare, youth work and policing in the community.

The agenda will also feature presentations from young people on two local graffiti wall projects and discussion of planned improvements to recreational spaces and play areas in the town.

The Young Peoples’ Issues Group will present several short video clips of projects for which they require funding from a delegated fund of £4,700 which has been made available to the Area Board from the Youth Service. Using electronic voting, the best projects will be prioritised and awarded funding.

Decisions will also be made on 5 other community area grant applications with a total value of over £14,000.
