Group plots to re-install station footbridge canopy

A GROUP of railway enthusiasts in Bradford on Avon are working on plans to restore the canopy to the town’s railway station footbridge.

This is Wiltshire

    • Ideally, the canopy should incorporate lifts on both platforms for the benefit of the disabled, those with wheelchairs or walking aids and those with heavy luggage to carry.

    • A canopy is a great idea to bring the station back to how it used to be. However, I am sure there are more important things to spend money on in B-on-A. Lifts? totally unrealistic on such a small station. They would be vandalised & unusable as there is no staff on the station most of the time, total waste of money. There is wheelchair etc. access on both platforms so lifts are not necessary.
