Details of Olympic Torch road closure

millie-thumb.jpgDetails have been announced of a four-and-a-half hour closure of Market St on 22nd May, as part of celebrations held as the Olympic Torch passes through the town.

Here’s the official announcement from Wiltshire Council:

Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Closure of:

A363 Market Street (Part), Bradford on Avon (Ref: A3/JJC/12/43)

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily toall traffic:

A363 Market Street (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Newtown.

To facilitate:

The passage of the Olympic torch relay and the Town Council to hold a celebratory event.

Alternative Route:

Silver Street, Holt Road, Springfield, New Road, Mount Pleasant, Masons Lane and vice versa.

The closure will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into force on Tuesday 22 May 2012 and it is anticipated that the closurewill operate between the hours of 12 noon and 16.30 hours.
