Class of 79 reunion call for Trinity School, Bradford on Avon
A Bradford on Avon woman is seeking Trinity School friends for a Class of 79 reunion.
Wellie O’Driscoll has put out an appeal on a local social media website to find friends with whom she went to school.
The reunion is being held on Saturday, September 7 from 6pm onwards in the Cellar Bar in The Swan Hotel at Bradford on Avon.
Ms O’Driscoll, a director of Made in Bradford on Avon, said: “I’m hoping that around 50 people will turn up.”
“We all left school 40 years ago and will all be aged around 56 or 57 now.
“The last reunion was about five years ago and we all had a really good time.
“This time, we’re all a little bit older so no-one is allowed to talk about their aches and pains. We’re not that old yet.”
The year after the class of 79 left, the school was transformed into a comprehensive and its name changed to St Laurence School.
But Ms O’Driscoll says the class of 79 are all very supportive and proud of each other and their individual achievements.
After leaving school, she trained as a nanny and worked locally before leaving Wiltshire to travel around the world for 30 years,
Along the way, she lived and worked in Egypt, Cyprus, the USA, the Congo, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Thailand and Scotland.
She returned to Bradford on Avon ten years ago to raise her family and put her children through school.
She now runs Made in Bradford on Avon, a community interest company for artists and crafters.
Anyone interested in attending the reunion should contact Wellie O’Driscoll through its Facebook site, or just turn up on the night.
