Broadcasting radio show from local care home

SOME unusual visitors were welcomed to Wiltshire Heights care home in Bradford on Avon last week as BBC radio Wiltshire joined the team as part of the station’s 30th birthday celebrations.

Wiltshire Heights Client Services Manager, Libby Miles invited the team to visit the home after hearing on air that they were looking for venues around Wiltshire to broadcast the popular breakfast show.

She said: “I really want to challenge people’s perceptions around care, care homes and the elderly.

“Our residents are encouraged to be as active and engaged as much as they want to be through a variety of mediums, some of which were demonstrated here.”

Visitors to the show included Cllr Alex Kay, Mayor of Bradford on Avon, children and headteacher from from Westwood with Iford school The Mighty Girls, The Police Cadets, co creator of the MindHarp Mark Smulian and Cllr Jerry Wickham from Wiltshire Council.
