AskBoA: Volunteers for the Civil War Re-enactment weekend?

As I hope you all are aware the Town Council are putting on the Civil War Re-enactment weekend on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July. Unfortunately we are a little low on volunteers to help support the event. I am therefore putting a shout out for some help please. Even an hour and a bit would be greatly appreciated.

Both Saturday 30th July and Sunday 31st July

11am to 12:15pm – I’m looking for people to stand at a location just outside of the town centre to inform cars that there are delays ahead and they may wish to turn round.

12noon to 3pm – I’m looking for people to direct crowds on Victory Field

2:45pm to 5pm – I’m looking for people to direct crowds near Fitzmaurice School/Poulton Playing Field.

The event will be held across the whole town from 10am til 6:30pm and as you can imagine a large amount of support is required.  We have so far signed up 60 stewarding volunteers, professional security and over 15 event staff.

If you can help out for even the shortest time I would be most grateful. Please can you reply confirming what time and day you can help with.

I will then put together a rota and circulate.  A briefing event has been arranged for Wednesday 13th July at 1pm in the Town Council offices however if you not able to attend alternative arrangements will be made.

Please feel free to forward this email on to your friends.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email.

Best wishes

Emma Sylvester
Deputy Town Clerk
