AskBoA: Local buses

A couple of years ago, I helped a local community group conduct a thorough audit of the town’s bus stops and shelters – their condition and information provision.

The results – which showed that the overall position was far from good – with information provision  [extent, accuracy, currency] particularly bad – were presented to the Town Council.

This was done with a view to the results informing the imminent Wiltshire Council consultation exercise, which many of us saw as a prelude to local bus services being cut.

Does any one know what happened to all that work?  

How can the authorities expect our buses to be used and services maintained unless they make a better fist of promoting them?  [One answer I get from Wiltshire is that “it’s all on the Internet”; well, the awfulness of finding what you want there is another story …]
