From the Wiltshire Times:

“The former tearooms and restaurant, known locally as The Three Gables, in St Margaret’s Street was bought at the auction, held at The Swan Hotel on Wednesday, by builder Mike Burbidge, on behalf of Howard Booty, who wants to start renovation work in spring 2010 to turn the building into a wine bar, restaurant or bistro, which he will let out.”

  1. How strange that this property and others in the vicinty of town bridge that are vulnerable to flooding do not appear to have made any attempt to protect themselves from inundation. They cannot rely on insureres picking up the tab after flood events, This only puts burden onto the rest of us, e.g. increased premiums. For a few hundrd pounds simple protection can be provided and demonstrating to insurers that they have taken/made precautions may assit in reducing premiums!
