Many people have given a huge amount of energy, time and anxiety to the proposals for this building, on behalf of the town. It has been shown time and again that there is a need for an Arts and Community Centre in the town and hopes have been raised throughout the community that this might finally happen. It is extremely disappointing, therefore, that there should now be any question of the building not being made available.

I hope that the planners and Town councillors will be working as hard and as enthusiastically to ensure that this much needed community space and arts centre is brought about for the town, as they are for ensuring that we get a footbridge.
